Tour of America’s Dairyland | Saturday, June 24, 2023
Don’t miss the 43rd Annual Cafe Hollander Otto Wenz Downer Classic on Saturday, June 24th!
Historic Downer Avenue is home to one of the most famous urban criterium courses in the country. Global in reach and extremely local in flavor, The Cafe Hollander Otto Wenz Downer Classic presented by ISCorp hosted in partnership with the Tour of America’s Dairyland, promises to be one of the highlights of cycling in Wisconsin this summer. The full day of racing, Saturday, June 24, 2023, features a popular kids’ race, Dairyland Mile race as well as a full slate of racing all afternoon and evening. Food, beer, and family fun complement the twilight pro race that promises to bring pro teams and riders from around the world.
Sendik’s & Bel Air Kids Races
If you are interested in the kids races, please head over to the registration area hosted by Lake Park Dental and Untethered on E. Belleview Pl. (near the old Pizza Man) no later than 5:30pm to sign a waiver and get ready to line up! The age grouping for the kids races will be ages 3/4, 5/6, 7/8 and 9-12 year old’s. All kids MUST be wearing a helmet and sign the waiver prior to racing. At the end of the kids races, Culvers will be handing out free ice cream and Corner Bakery free cookies – so this is an event not to miss for the kiddos!
Interested in joining the Dairyland Mile race? This race is short and fast and organized by Infinity Running! Come on out to Downer Avenue during the Tour Of Americas Dairyland. Due to the race happening during the bike races we will have to enforce a minimum time of 15min per mile. Click the link below to register!
As always, these races can’t be successful without volunteers like you! Race marshals and corner guards are essential — they keep racers and their fans on their respective sides of the barricades so everyone has a safe and exciting race day. Plus they get a front row view of all the action!
Volunteers get a flag and a reflective vest to use, and an event t-shirt that will be yours to keep as our thanks for your time and service. Meet with us at the volunteer tent/BID tent next to the grandstand to collect your equipment and get your assignment.
